BILL IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE OF 53 YEARS, CATHY, OF THE HOME, HIS DAUGHTER SHERRI SAWYER OF POWELLS POINT, HIS SON, ROBERT F WORKMAN (CHIP) AND HIS WIFE KIM OF NEWALLA, OKLAHOMA. Bill was fully and completely devoted to creating an idyllic, wonderful, and happy life for his beloved wife, Laurie (Gassett) Davis, and his most-cherished children, Catherine, Harrison, and the eagerly-anticipated new baby, Davis, who is expected to arrive in August 2014. We are sad to announce that on January 16, 2023 we had to say goodbye to William E. Davis of Dunbar, West Virginia. He was surrounded by 2023 SCI SHARED RESOURCES, LLC. He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Davis and Peggy Davis; his sister Missy Davis; and his godson Bailey Withrow. William was born in Crossville, TN. A faithful community servant, Bill was past president of the Oneonta Rotary Club and a member of many boards, including the SUNY at Delhi Technology Board, Saint James Episcopal Church Vestry, NYS Automobile Dealers Board, and the Board of Directors of Wilber Bank. WILLIAM DAVIS OBITUARY. With a passion for his propertys upkeep, Bill often was seen raking his lawn, riding his lawn mower, and driving his tractor with a manure spreader in tow on his horse farm in Otego. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and served as a radio communications operator on B-17s and B-29s in the Pacific theater.
